Yes! We are the fortunate ones, the world allows us to research and follow the path our brain and our creativity set out for us. Every step on the way is driven by curiosity, by a need to understand, to explore, to learn.
Of course there is always the struggle of academic life, the fight for funding, the challenge to motivate, teach and educate, the managerial misery... but reward is high... we end the day wiser than we begin it.
We should be aware that we are supported by public money, that it is the joint effort of a whole society that allows us to do what we are best at: Science!
In addition to work our butts off, we should therefore always be ready to explain to the rest of the world what we are doing and why we are doing it. Sometimes that is hard, the theoretical work, the really far in the future research are not always easy to appreciate. But we should try nevertheless.
Under the tab 'MEDIA' you find Documentaries, Lectures, Interviews etc. all meant to share our research with a wider audience. Enjoy!
