WHAT ELSE MAKES MY HEART beat
There is beauty everywhere; recently I discovered the work of Neal Stephenson, his book ‘Quicksilver’ is absolutely wonderful. It is an account of science and history full of ‘sound and fury’ so to say… what a book… I need to start reading the two successors (The Confusion and The System of the World) soon now.
Another wonderful piece of work is John Gribbin’s master piece: ‘Science: A History’.
What really makes a heart beat is the magic combination of words and music, out of the endless list I could mention there are two that really stand out for me:
'There's a man who spoke wonders though I've never met him
He said, "He who seeks finds and who knocks will be let in"
I think of you in motion and just how close you are getting
And how every little thing anticipates you
All down my veins my heart-strings call
Are you the one that I've been waiting for?'
Nick Cave

And then there is Leonard Cohen’s song ‘Hallelujah’, performed by this lady with her exceptional voice: Patricia O’Callaghan.
And then there is the master himself, inspired by the great poet Federico García Lorca ... have a look and be touched (esp the part from 5':30'' onwards)
The best documentary I recently watched was ‘Life after People’ by the History Channel… amazing vision and great animations… with a sobering message.
